The Conscious Athlete coaching is athlete centered with a focus on how to deliberately choose and balance all the aspects of your life, along with multisport, successfully and joyfully. Vision casting with purpose and on purpose is where it all starts and a plan is built from the conversation about your goals and dreams, and to determine whether I am the coach for you and you are the athlete for me. Plans are written with the big picture or macrocycle in mind (think 4 years down the road) and then generally crafted into training cycles (meso/microcycles) in 4 week increments. Each year will be planned according to periodization around your competitive season and will chunk your training into manageable bits. Whether you are new to the sport or have been competing for years, bringing more awareness and “method to your madness” will most certainly define the process in a new way. Your strengths and the aspects of your sport that need to be worked on will all be considered. Your history will be reviewed and an invitation to take a hard look at yourself will be extended. As you come into consciousness, you may learn to redefine what success is and what finish lines are.injury and stress, encourage rewiring neurocircuitry, open the body to more strength and mobility, and open the mind to possibility and change. Private sessions can be scheduled to work on what you need specifically for your sport, your body, and your mind.
From mental strategies to biomechanical and movement analysis to heart rate testing, you can schedule a private session to explore how to reduce injury, avoid overtraining, and understand unconscious compensation patterns you have developed over the years that no longer serve you. Options include stride analysis, swim stroke analysis, Lactate Threshold testing, mobility/flexibility assessment, mental strategies, word choices, belief systems, stress strategies and breathing techniques.
Strength training is something I strongly encourage every athlete at every age to do, and will also be periodized into your macro training cycle. One on one sessions to help with form, technique, focus and breath are available on an as needed or desired basis.
